Biography (short)

Madeline Ash is an Australian contemporary romance author and two-time RITA Award finalist. She has also won Australia’s Romantic Book of the Year award (RUBY). She writes sexy-sweet novels with sensitivity and humour.

Industry Reviews

Publishers Weekly book review of Her Cowboy Prince (October 2020). Quotes included:

Ash spins a fanciful tale of love and palace intrigue in her second Cowboy Princes romance.

Ash’s playfully far-fetched story line requires readers to suspend a good deal of disbelief, but the multilayered heroine and trio of close-knit brothers are sure to charm their way into the hearts of all who succeed. Plenty of steamy encounters between Kris and Frankie add to the appeal.

Fans of royal romances should snap this up.

In the Media

ELLE MAGAZINE AUSTRALIA (June/July issue, 2018): The New Romantics. Article on feminism in romance novels for which Madeline was interviewed. Quotes included:

“I prefer to challenge the social construct of masculinity by writing about men who sometimes feel out-of-control, weak and powerless. Feminism is not just about women having (and using) power, it’s also about men being free to show vulnerability.”

“Thankfully the genre is undergoing some much-needed diversification,” says Ash. “Not only with a rise in more diverse authors, but inclusive characters, settings, and storylines featuring characters who aren’t white, straight, cisgender and able-bodied.”

BOOKTOPIA (July 3, 2017): Madeline Ash: Believe in yourself. Make writing a priority. Embrace doubt, but then tell it to shove off.  Booktopia interview Madeline Ash about Breaking Good, her RUBY nominated book, how she reacted when she found out she was a finalist, and her advice for aspiring authors.
